Great North Dog Walk June 3rd 2018
Organiser Tony Carlisle has once again requested Westoe Vets provide Veterinary cover on the day, as we have done for so many years. So here's hoping for a huge turnout and fine weather for this unique and fun event!

NEW Rabbit Recovery Suite
Tracey has dubbed it the Rabbit Recovery Suite, a small room well away from both the cat kennels (downstairs) and the upstairs dog ward. Aimed at providing peace and quiet for post op. rabbits and used for the first time by the wonderfully huge Frosty. We encourage rabbits and guinea-pigs to bring their bonded companion if possible, to reduce stress. The crates can be divided so that small buns can be accommodated next to each other without the risk of injury. Below are a few photos.
Victor first attended the Great North Dog Walk as the ''vet on call'' while an employee of Williams and Cummings Veterinary Group in 2004. He has volunteered his time every year since, and over the years has seen it grow in terms of the number of dogs registered. For the last few years the vet duties have been shared with Vets4Pets, however this year they withdrew their support and Westoe Vets provided the cover at both the start and finish of the course; which tested our early morning organisational skills a little!
GNDW 2016 took place on a sunny Sunday in June and those of us manning the tents enjoyed the views and the chance to chat with those taking part. Happily there were no serious veterinary incidents and all participants seemed to enjoy the event. Here are just a few of the photos taken that day.
